3.45 Haydock – Class 4 Handicap (1m 2½f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
HIS FINEST HOUR looks worth siding with on the strength of his Newbury win three starts ago. The second and third from that race won next time.
The Ian Williams runner has had excuses since, albeit he didn't run badly at Epsom most recently, when the ground might have been slower than ideal.
4.00 Leicester – Class 4 Nursery Handicap (7f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
Sam James was aboard the Karl Burke-trained Half Sovereign for that filly's last two wins, so it seems telling that the jockey now rides the same stable's BOILING OVER, who missed out by just a short head – under James – in a similar race at Doncaster on his most recent start.
4.15 Haydock – Class 4 Nursery Handicap (6f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
ANAISA has already had five starts but she's had a seven-week pause and this will be her first outing in a handicap.
Tim Easterby's filly looks attractively enough weighted to get the vote in a trappy little heat.
4.30 Leicester – Class 5 Fillies' Handicap (1m; ITV4 & Racing TV)
GLAMOROUS MARLENE showed just modest form in three starts last year and this is a belated reappearance for Roger Varian's filly.
However, she's a half-sister to two smart types, notably US Grade 1 winner Anisette, and she has the potential to prove better than a mark of 70.
4.45 Haydock – Maiden Stakes (6f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
This maiden was won by the subsequent Group 1-winning miler Charyn in 2022.
Those with form haven't shown a lot, so maybe the Karl Burke-trained NO DIRECTION can make a successful introduction. He's the first foal of Hala Hala Hala, who won a 6f maiden on her debut and was later placed in Group 3 company.
5.00 Leicester – Class 4 Handicap (6f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
The recent form figures for DARK CLOUD RISING may not be that inspiring, but David O'Meara's runner has been keeping good company and he could take advantage of what is a drop in class.
5.15 Haydock – Class 4 Handicap (5f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
A competitive sprint handicap in which DURAN might be able to resume his progress, now he returns to a course and distance over which he won a Class 3 contest in May.

5.45 Haydock – Class 4 Fillies' Handicap (7f; ITV4 & Racing TV)
The switch to a handicap – and fillies-only company – as well as the step back up in trip should mean BINT MOHAATHER goes well.
Jack Channon's runner won a 7f Wolverhampton maiden on her reappearance and was then found out by a drop to 6f, and a penalty, when third in a Doncaster novice.

6.15 Haydock – Class 4 Handicap (1m; ITV4 & Racing TV)
This looks a good opportunity for the James Ferguson-trained WOLFPACK, who is newly gelded, to follow up his novice success at Thirsk. He was also declared to run at Newmarket on Saturday.
6.45 Haydock – Class 4 Handicap (2m; ITV4 & Racing TV)
An obvious selection for the closing race, there's no getting away from STRING OF PEARLS.
Sir Mark Prescott's filly has won her last two starts – over 1m 4f and 1m 6f – and probably has more to give now she steps up in distance again.

Is there anything else of interest on Sunday?
Yes, there are Group 1s in France and Germany. In the latter, Charlie Appleby's old warrior Rebel's Romance runs in the Grosser Preis von Berlin, a race he won in 2022, at Hoppegarten (2.40).
This is a big opportunity for Billy Loughnane, who has recently struck up an excellent partnership with Appleby, to gain a first Group 1 success. Bookies will be taking bets on this race, some may stream it live and it should also be live on YouTube.
In something of a surprise, the stable's retained rider, William Buick, goes to Deauville instead, riding Shadow Of Light in the Prix Maurice de Gheest (3.05).
This is a competitive race featuring last year's winner Lazzat (James Doyle), and Ryan Moore partners Inisherin.
The Maurice de Gheest is on Sky Sports Racing and bookies will be covering it as well.
